Production gains
Increase in weight
Not so good for people, but great for livestock since the farmer's income is based on the weight of his/her livestock at sale time. Our products cause faster and better growth for the same food intake.
The increase in weight of the animals dosed with CH4GUARD varied from 20% to 30% more than the undosed animals. But during a mild drought dosed wether sheep achieved and average daily weight gain of 0.24 kg, while the undosed wethers gained only 0.06 kg per day. Once the drought ended the dosed animals gained an even higher growth rate of 0.98 kg per day.
The dose required is minute: only 2 mg per kg weight of the animal's weight. For a 400 kg (= 880 pound) animal it takes only 0.16th of a teaspoon.
Production gains go straight to the bottom line in farming. The cost of our products to achieve these valuable returns are very low.
Milk increase in volume and solids content
These both increase. The amount of the increase depends on feed type and cow variety but any increased yield goes straight to the bottom line! However, the average increase in dollar returns was over 10% greater in our trials.
How long does a dose last?
As these results show, the dose has an effect for a least one week when used on milking cows.
With sheep the dose often lasted longer. The graph above shows our longest record: over 40 days. The dose was administered in their drinking water.
Meat and fat quality
The meat quality from the dosed ewes and wethers was excellent: tender and tasty, with no "old ewe" smell.
The fat was white, not yellow.
